Delivering Mobility to the Pharmaceutical Industry

Following the successful implementation of PreBilt™ – our mobility solution for the SAP supply chain, for a leading pharmaceutical company at two UK and USA manufacturing sites, we are delighted to now be deploying it to two further US sites. The PreBilt implementation will serve as a pilot project, which will allow the customer to assess the functionality of the solution in action to inform the planned rollout across more sites in the Americas.

The manufacturing sites, operating SAP Warehouse Management (WM), were relying on manual and paper-based processes, which were proving time-consuming and complicated, meaning the SAP solution was not being used to its full potential. The customer was looking to digitise these processes and turned to PreBilt as the ideal solution, based on the initial successful implementation, and our longstanding working relationship.

We will be delivering the mobility project in two phases, with apps deployed to 20 devices across the two sites. The first phase will see us implementing PreBilt for the end-to-end supply chain processes of goods receipt, internal stock movements, physical inventory count, stock enquiry, picking, and packing. The base framework will include our User Maintenance application to maintain the settings for the radio frequency queue, printer, and parameter IDs, as well as PreBilt for Analytics to generate live data from SAP, enabling real-time metrics to be accessed and used to inform key operational decisions.

As part of the second phase of the project, we will be deploying two additional applications to the sites; List Reporting, which displays live reports from SAP and displays key data on a wallboard, and General Posting, which covers goods movement processes from storage locations usually carried out in MIGO.

Our team of expert WM consultants will also be conducting a system review to gain a comprehensive understanding of the customer’s business and SAP processes and identify functional gaps and areas of improvement. These gaps will be addressed in Phase Two by designing, building, and testing custom additions to selected applications.

Throughout both phases of the mobility project, we will be ensuring all users are comfortable using PreBilt, supporting knowledge transfer for the solution as well as testing, and supplying user and configuration guides for all applications deployed. Furthermore, we will be providing our enhanced support package to ensure PreBilt continues to operate at its optimum performance level.

Commenting on our newest win, our Head of Sales, Paul Fraser, said “We are extremely excited to be embarking on this new project with one of our longstanding customers, helping to simplify its supply chain processes and get the most out of its SAP WM solution.”

“This latest win is testament to the skill and professionalism of our team, which has an excellent precedent of successfully delivering product implementations, as well as expert support and consultancy services, to the customer.”

PreBilt, our suite of out-of-the-box mobile applications, can replace outdated technology and manual processes in the supply chain. With the ability to be deployed in days, PreBilt offers numerous business and operational benefits including improved stock accuracy, increased productivity, and reduced staff training time, stock take time, and carbon footprint.”
